Ahhhh Yes there still is hope for Hip Hop after all, how would you feel about a really dope album that sounds like it could have come out in the mid 90's has intelligent rhymes, head nodding beats and great samples and ill cuts from DJ Scratch on some tracks?...An album that has ZERO auto-tune, wack rhymes that make no sense, no retarded put on voices, no brand names being dropped and no lame gimmicks?
Then honestly look no further than the debut LP from New Jersey's Rasheed Chappell an MC (who reminds me a little bit of Roc Marciano at times) that Kenny Dope is quoted as saying that "Rasheed is an MC I have been waiting my whole career to work with"
Rasheed has been recording music for years and has had a couple of mix-tapes, appeared on the dope remix of Slient Knight's "Staying Busy"
and he has contributed to books of poetry...but Future Before Nostalgia is his 2 years in the making debut album and easily one of 2011's best, boasting sole production from the legendary producer and DJ Kenny Dope...someone who really needs no introduction...
Check or buy the album here...
and his mixtapes here
I certainly expect to see this LP on a lot of Best of 2011 lists...
